As a child; we’ve all fell countless times, touched fire and other hot surfaces a time or two, been slapped for doing something we were expected to know not to do and many other things! We have recovered from them all haven’t we? we can’t even remember some of those dreadful things that our parents, friends or enemies did for us to swear that we’ll hate them for what is left of our lives. If that isn’t strength, I don’t know what is. It is the culmination of life’s events which gives us a testimony to stand up and share in church or butt into a conversation with people who always seem to have a lot to say.
The ability to move on with your life after a betrayal is strength, to wear a smile when you are dying inside is strength, the very fact that you are living RIGHT NOW is strength! Is your life perfect right now? Does your day always turn out the way that you want it to? Do people always respond to you as you would like? Is the weather always what you want it to be? Most things in life are NEVER the way we want them to be, but we still go on don’t we? that is strength.
Life is perfect, whether you believe it or not. After all we see things not as they are but as we are. Profound thought right? It’s not mine – Anaïs Nin said it and she is RIGHT! things are perfect just the way they are, just like us who were perfectly made in the image of our creature. Thing is, we have a suitcase of expectations of how things should and should not be….that is where frustrations and disappointments originate. The ability to accept and appreciate as is is great strength!
If you are living right now, you are strong. It takes a strong person to live in a world that is void of genuine love, riddled with crime, violence and poverty and stained by every corruptible sin. Your mind is strong because it has been able to retain the knowledge of years gone by so that you can read this. It is within you, but you can only see as far as you look so, look beyond your doubt and believe.
